The Details: Stripping away the excess, we designed an island entirely out of honed dark basalt, giving it the appearance of a single, floating stone block. Matte charcoal cabinetry hides state-of-the-art appliances, while a striking abstract brass backsplash provides the only pop of metallic warmth in this dramatically moody space.
